Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Ebo "The X-treme Machine" Elder followed in his father′s footsteps and started boxing at the tender age of eight. He enjoyed a long, illustrious amateur career with 139 wins before turning professional in 2000.
In his last and most notable fight in 2004, and in what′s been called one of the most thrilling matches in boxing history, Elder successfully defended his North American Boxing Organization (NABO) title against Courtney Burton after nearly being knocked out himself. With a record of 22 wins, 14 by way of knockout, and two losses, Elder is currently ranked as a top 10 contender by all major boxing organizations.
Now a reformed bad boy and born-again Christian, Elder devotes his time away from the ring traveling the country and ministering the word of God. He uses his boxing fame to share his hopes and beliefs.
Elder is married with two children, Mattie and Abbie.
