Born and raised in New York City, Nick Acevedo is a certified computer technician and the single father of five children: Genove, Nicholas, Amanda, Isaiah and Felicity.
A former International Boxing Association (IBA) Intercontinental titleholder, Acevedo held a perfect record of 15 wins, nine by way of knockout, before succumbing to the pressure of his rising status. In 2002, Acevedo faced his first loss to former International Boxing Federation (IBF) Junior Welterweight Champion Vince Philips, a loss that marked his last time in the ring.
Now back after three years, Acevedo vows to never let the pressure get to him again and sees The Contender as his shot to redeem himself and provide a better life for his children.
